En 2004 et 2010, elle fut invitée à travailler au centre de céramique internationale EKWC en Hollande, en 2005 et 2006 et 2011 à la Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres. Lauréate du Norma Lipman Research Fellowship en 2007 elle commença à résider également à Newcastle upon Tyne au Royaume unis. Le travail de Gabrielle Wambaugh a été présenté dans de nombreux musées, centres d’art ainsi que des galeries privées en Europe, aux Etats-Unis et en Corée : Le Grand Hornu en Belgique, le Musée International de la céramique de Faenza en Italie ainsi qu’au Musée du capitole à Rome et lors de l’exposition « circuits céramiques» au Musée des Arts décoratifs de Paris.

Gabrielle Wambaugh won the Altadis prize in sculpture in 2002, which resulted in her first monograph (published by Acte Sud with texts by Véronique Wiesinger). The prize-winning works were initially exhibited at Galerie Durand Dessert in Paris, followed by an exhibition in Spain at Juana de Aizpuru. She was awarded her first public commission from the city of Daegu, Korea in 2003.
In 2004 and 2010 she received a stipendium to work at the European Ceramic Work Centrum (EKWC) Holland; in 2005,2006 and 2011 she was invited to be an artist in residence at the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres. She began her Norma Lipman Research Fellowship at Newcastle University in 2007.
As a sculptor, Gabrielle Wambaugh is concerned with spaces and ‘inbetweens’ such as gaps and interstices. She works with clay, plastic, rubber and chalk.
She states that sculpture is everything but what it is.
